Cornerstone Companions is proud to announce that we have recently rescued 2 horses to use for our therapeutic riding program! It’s a win-win!! One life is saved another is enriched by independence and both are forever changed!! Wilma the Therapy Horse
Wilma was our first rescue in 2021. Wilma only has one eye but that doesn’t stop her from being the BEST THERAPY HORSE EVER! She loves kids and people and especially treats so she’s the perfect companion for the job! She also knows what it’s like to be a little or look a little different than everyone else. Come out and ride Wilma we hope she can help your loved one to reduce anxiety and become better at communication and engaging with others.
Charlie the Rescue Horse
Charlie was the 2nd horse we rescued here at the ranch. He came from the kill pen in Modesto CA and we drove over 6 hours to pick him up in the heat of summer here in SoCal in August to save him. When he got his freedom ride home you could just see the look in his eyes and mine now that he was safe. The moment we got here he knew he was home. Charlie will be trained to use as a therapeutic riding horse in the future. He is super sweet!! For now you can come visit him at the ranch and give him lots of pets and rubs!
Waylon, Willie and Cash
These boys were recently rescued from the kill pen in Texas where there were to be sent to slaughter. Not as soon as Cornerstone Companions found out! We immediately drove to Texas to rescue these guys! They are so sweet and precious- we are gratef they were saved and get to live their best life here at the ranch!
Meet Matilda the Therapy Pig!
Please say hello to Matilda. She is the newest member at the ranch. She is a three month old KuneKune pig which are known for their friendly disposition and ability to train for therapy. We know many on the spectrum have different needs and capabilities, so Matilda is here for those who aren’t quite sure about the horses, for whatever reason. We know that animals are teachers and healers, and have been proven to relieve anxieties and promote socialization with peers for those with ASD. We can’t wait for her to be part of our “Healing Zoo”! Schedule an appointment to come out to the ranch meet the animals today.
Annabelle Pygmy Nigerian Dwarf Goat
Annabelle is the newest member at our ranch and we couldn’t be more happy to have her! She is small and will be available for those who are more comfortable with smaller farm animals. She is only six weeks old and is being bottle-fed currently. Hurry and come out and bottle feed her while you can!
